ABOUT ME
I am a third year student at the University of Texas at Austin pursuing a B.A. in Psychology and Plan II Honors. My research interests include gender, sexuality, and adolescent development. I am particularly interested in the effects of different media and education materials on development of sexual attitudes and practices in adolescents and young adults.
As the Director of UT's Best Buddies chapter and the Vice President of Scholarship & Service for the women's honor organization Texas Orange Jackets, I love to volunteer on campus and in the Austin area. The University of Texas has offered me many opportunities to lead and serve. In addition to my leadership in Best Buddies and Orange Jackets, I am a Healthy Sexuality Peer Educator for University Health Services, a Peer Academic Coach for the Sanger Learning Center, and a research assistant in Dr. Rebecca Bigler's Race and Gender Lab in the Children's Research Lab and the Dr. Cindy Meston's Female Sexual Psychophysiology Lab.
I love to learn about people and the human experience. There is nothing more fascinating to me than getting to know another person deeply and I value my relationships with others above all else. After completing my undergraduate education at UT, I hope to pursue a PhD in clinical or counseling psychology. My other interests include cooking, travelling, bicycling, and exploring Austin.
